The Neuro-Spicy Guide to Being Organised… or, How I Should Be But Absolutely Am Not

Running a small business with a neuro-spicy brain is its own epic quest. Some days, your mind is a fireworks display, ideas sparking everywhere, energy humming, and possibilities wide open. Other days? Even answering one email feels like scaling Everest in slippers.

People think we thrive on chaos. Not true. Most of us secretly dream of order; our hidden Pinterest boards are filled with colour-coded calendars, neatly labelled bins, and visions of Future Me who has it all together. Present Me… not so much.

And yes, I know the list of things I should be doing:

  • Keep my inbox spotless.
  • Plan the week every Sunday night like a Proper Adult.
  • Automate all the things.
  • Remember where the scissors live.
  • Stop turning my notes app into a cryptic graveyard of half-formed ideas.

But here’s the thing: creativity, empathy, hyperfocus, and passion aren’t flaws; they’re superpowers. The trick isn’t to cram yourself into a “normal” box, but to build your business around the way your brain actually works.

Being a neurospicy entrepreneur means traditional organisation might never be your strong suit. And honestly? That’s more than fine.

Your business doesn’t need perfection. It needs you: messy, brilliant, forgetful, inventive, passionate, resilient, and still showing up even when your brain is doing circus tricks.

If that’s not the real definition of success, I don’t know what is.
