Candle Safety Tips

1. Always Keep an Eye on the Flame
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Ensure you extinguish candles before leaving the room or going to bed.
2. Use Candle Holders
Use sturdy holders that can collect dripping wax and are heat-resistant. Make sure the holder is stable and won’t tip over easily.
3. Trim the Wick
Trim candle wicks to about ¼ inch before lighting. Long or crooked wicks can cause uneven burning and dripping.
4. Burn Candles in Well-Ventilated Areas
Ensure proper airflow around the candle to prevent black soot from forming on walls and ceilings.
5. Avoid Drafts
Place candles away from drafts, vents, and air currents to prevent uneven burning, dripping, and excessive smoke.
6. Keep Away from Flammable Objects
Make sure candles are at least 12 inches away from anything that can catch fire, like curtains, furniture, and paper.
7. Consider the Room’s Atmosphere
Candles should be placed on stable surfaces, and their location should be considered for the room's overall atmosphere and scent distribution.
8. Use Candle Snuffers
Use a snuffer to extinguish candles rather than blowing them out to minimize smoke and prevent hot wax splatter.
9. Teach Kids and Pets Candle Safety
Keep candles out of reach of children and pets, and educate them about the dangers of fire.
10. Extinguish Properly
Ensure candles are completely extinguished before disposing of them. Double-check that the wick embers are no longer glowing.
These tips should help ensure that everyone can enjoy the beauty and ambiance of candles safely. Stay safe and happy candle burning! 🕯️✨
